East Zone Centre of Excellence for the Creative Arts (COECA) @ HGS

In 2012, Haig Girls’ was appointed as the East Zone Centre of Excellence for the Creative Arts (COECA) with the specific focus on arts education.

The COECA’s vision is to “connect schools in the East Zone and the Arts Community to experience, enjoy and explore the creative arts”.

The COECA@HGS focuses on the development of arts education in schools in the East Zone, in particular primary schools, through advocacy, capability-building, innovation and network-building.

The objectives of COECA@HGS are as follows:
  • Advocacy: To champion arts education
  • Capability-Building: To build arts education capabilities
  • Innovation: To trail blaze and share innovations in the arts
  • Network-Building: To facilitate collaborations between schools and arts organisations
