2017 Tanjong Katong Secondary School Council Junior Leadership Symposium

On the 31st of May, the prefect team represented Haig Girls’ school and presented in the TK Student Council Junior Leadership Symposium. They shared their knowledge on Social Emotional Learning. Through various experiential activities, the team taught primary school leaders how to communicate more effectively, manage conflicts, empathise with others, as well as improve themselves and the people around them. Our school also received a Certificate of Partnership with Tanjong Katong Secondary School.

Xue Hui Le National Chinese Writing Competition 2017

学汇乐 National Chinese Writing Competition 2017 is the unique platform to showcase creative skills in writing. The competition consists of two rounds. Calista had competed with the Top 80 finalists from the Preliminary Round on 3 Jul 2017  and came in 18th place in the Grand Final.  She as awarded with a Certificate, $100 Course Voucher and $100 cash.

2017 Primary Mathematics Project Competition


Two pupils had participated in the 2017 Primary Mathematics Competition in June 2017 jointly organised by the Gifted Education Branch and NUS High School of Mathematics and Science to encourage pupils to carry out innovative and creative work in Mathematics. They created posters that focused on the competition theme, “Mathematics is Around Us".

Mind Sports Challenge 2017

Anshika from 4 Humility has gotten Bronze medal in the Mind Sports Challenge at the Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC) and the Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad (SASMO). Those two competitions not only test mathematical ability but also teamwork.

5th Asia Arts Festival


On 30th July 2017, Chen Jing from 2 Kindness participated in the 5th Asia Arts Festival which was held in Singapore over 3 days. This festival is a platform for young performers to validate their skills and talents before a panel of international judges. Chen Jing took part in the Instrumental category and attained a Gold in Piano (Solo).

Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition


Chen Jing from 2 Kindness participated in the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition. She won the First Prize in the Elementary category and was invited to perform for the winner's recital which was held in Carnegie Hall, in New York.

Two of our students took part in the 14th Singapore Open Gymnastics Championships 2017.  She competed in the Level 2 (Individual) Freehand for 9 year old and attained 5th position.

Australian Indoor Skydiving Championships 2017


On 19 August 2017, Vera competed in the Australian Indoor Skydiving Championships 2017 held in Australia. Out of 11 participants in the Freestyle Kid Intermediate category, she won 2nd place. She is proud and happy to be able to compete alongside her sister, Kyra Poh. Vera truly enjoyed the experience and looks forward to participate in more of such competitions.

Singapore Athletics Under-13 Track and Field Championships 2017

The track and field team participated in the Singapore Athletics Under-13 Track and Field Championships 2017 on the 1st July 2017 at Toa Payoh Stadium at a national level. Tng Kai Xin and Snikitha Dasari were participating for the first time and achieved commendable results. Tanisha Dasari has also achieved her personal best distance of 7.77m. Girl Guides Singapore Centenary Storybooks Project


Certificates of participation for brownies who have participated in the Girl Guides Singapore Centenary Storybooks Project. Their story was selected among numerous entries and it was published into a book. The book is available in HGS library for students to browse. The three brownies also had the privilege of attending the launch of the story book at Istana where the Girl Guides HQ awarded their book to them.
